Update on Christian Persecution in Orissa, India
Several have inquired about my friend Soubhagya Nayak, who serves (and leads) with many pastors in Orissa, India. Over the past couple of months radical Hindus have been attacking Christians there, burning and looting their churches, destroying their personal property, and even killing many. I had not heard from my friend in a while when I requested prayer for him on the air. Fortunately, he is safe, as I learned not long ago. Today, he sent me another update with a few pictures of the destruction going on there:
Dear brother,
I am sending some photos of our churches which are burnt by the Hindus in last violence in Kandhamal district.Your support is being supplied kind to the believers of theses churches,these believers not only have lost their church house but also their wealth.The Hindus have looted every things of our believers,even they have not kept their hen,goat and sheep of our believers.They are waiting for help from God and His people like you.
Thank you very much for your support.Many have no Bible and many of our pastor and Evangelists has lost their Bicycle.I want to supply 500 nos. of Bible and 25 Bicycles to our workers.Another our church at Sankarakhole of Kandamal is burnt by the Hindus as our pastor Rev,Pankaj Digal reported now.Keep them in your prayer specially for the believers those who are in Jungle now.

How can I send money or ??? to your friend?
Thanks for asking. The best way to get it there is Western Union. Soubhagya is able to get to the Western Union without too much problem. If you decide to do that, let me know and I’ll be happy to work out the details. I know right now he is using whatever money he gets to cover living expenses for pastors. He also hopes to be able to replace some of their bikes and other destroyed property. (Bikes are their only means for getting to people beyond walking distance.) Even small amounts for us are huge for them, because the exchange rate is so much in our favor. I know many of the men he has helped because I had met and taught them under his leadership last time I was there.
